This rich and tender savory scone will satisfy with every bite. Easy to make without yeast! Pro tip: you can make it slightly spicy by switching to Abokichi Instant Miso Soup Chili.
Servings: 8 Scones
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
2 All purpose flour
1 tablespoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 tablespoon butter
1 cup heavy cream, cold and cut in chunks
1/2 cup chopped scallion
2 tablespoon Abokichi Instant Miso Original
1 teaspoon Nutritional Yeast (add cheesy flavor)
* whole sesame seeds to garnish
1, Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
2, Shift together the dry ingredients; flour, baking powder, and salt. Using forks or a pastry blender, cut in the butter to coat the pieces with the flour. Add Nutritional Yeast and mix. The mixture should look like coarse crumbs. Fold the Miso paste into the batter. Try not to mix too much. Make a well in the center and pour in the heavy cream. Fold everything together just to incorporate. DO not overwork the dough.
3, Press the dough out on a lightly floured surface. Make a big rectangle. Cut the rectangle in half then cut the pieces in half again.
4, Place the scones on a parchment sheet and sprinkle the sesame seeds on top of it. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes (depending on the size of the scone, adjust the time) until beautifully brown.
