ABO Miso Asparagus and Mushrooms

Embrace the season of spring with this flavorful asparagus dish using our ABO Miso Soup. This easy and simple recipe is great made in batches as a meal prep, and is perfect for toppings, fillings, sandwiches or as a side dish. This is an umami party that can hold up to 3 days in the fridge.

  • 2-3 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 cup shiitake mushrooms, sliced
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp ABO Miso Soup Original flavour
  • 600g asparagus, trimmed and cut into 5cm pieces
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Heat up the pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the oil and sear the mushrooms.
  3. Add the garlic and continue sauteing.
  4. Add ABO Miso Soup paste, continue sauteing.
  5. Add the asparagus, season with salt and pepper, and cook until the color of the asparagus brightens. Be careful not to overcook the asparagus to retain a nice bite and flavor.
