DESCRIPTIONS

These sleek and simple chopsticks are made of sugi, Japanese cedar, by miya daiku (temple carpenters) family in Yoshino, Japan. They are lightweight and so comfortable to hold. Enjoy dining at home with these carefully crafted artisanal hashi, chopsticks.

About Hirohashi - Yoroshii Oagari

In 1986, Mikihiro Hirohashi, a miya daiku,  (temple carpenter), founded Hiro Hashi in his hometown of Yoshino, Japan. His daughter, Makiko Nakaiso, inherited her father's passion for fine woodwork and she launched a new brand of chopsticks called "Yoroshii Oagari" in Yoshino.

While some of the chopsticks are made by machine, the craftsmen carefully finish them by hand to produce high-quality chopsticks. They are used in restaurants, hotels, ryokan (Japanese-style inns), and ryotei (Japanese-style restaurants) all over Japan.
